Any possibility we see a Brazilian doll (presumably Camila) to go with Lea 2016 GOTY? Look out Tutu and Inkpot, I sense a new cat coming to store shelves in 2016!

I’ve got my fingers (and everything else) crossed that they will use the Jess mold for her face, but I can’t really tell from the pics I saw of the mini doll. If they do, I will be buying her the day she comes out!

Interesting idea… I hadn’t thought of that (Jess mold). I am thinking she is a Josefina. Truthfully, I am more excited about GOTY16 than Maryellen, as much as I support keeping the historical line going.

I agree, I’m more excited about GOTY2016 than Maryellen. I don’t think I’ll be getting anything of Maryellen’s collection especially since, I heard a rumor that the Beforever 2016 (the AA doll from Detroit) might be coming out Jan 1st too!? Two dolls in one release!!? That’s overwhelming, but hey, at least I don’t have to wait for very long. Sounds exciting!
Regarding the storyline…I seem to recall the friend issue in other GOTY storylines, but can’t clearly remember if it was with Nikki or Saige or Kanani. I know Kanani had issues with a visiting cousin feeling out of place in Hawaii.
Honestly, I am now in the “I hope she isn’t blonde” camp. 🙂

Did you happen to see Heather’s comment in this post about BF2016 book being released Jan 1?
It seems like Maryellen and Lea’s hair colors could be similar … But with AG I am co I got to expect the unexpected! Would Molly be blonde today?!?

I would guess the GOTY would have light colored hair since Grace is dark and there are very few dark haired GOTYs, plus the new BF2016 would have dark hair since she’s AA (I would guess). I keep hoping for a new face mold too.
GOTY2016 story seems similar to Kanani, and so far, all the GOTY books I’ve read has some kind of friend issue to solve. But the mystery part sounds cool and exciting.

Her books look really interesting, and I’m very excited for the GOTY to be released. Only problem is that she sounds too much like Jess in my opinion…AG really needs some new ideas if they want to release a unique doll every year.

I agree. I’ll keep my mind open but I hope the pattern isn’t “girl goes to exotic country” every year. I do like the simpler stories like Marisol and Chrissa that feature “regular” girls. Even Kanani, though she was in Hawaii, she lived there and we could learn from that.
