Wilmot 2016 Warehouse Sale Dates Announced

IMG_6872I had heard rumors about the Wilmot Warehouse Sale happening in May… MAY!?  What happened to June once school is out??  Anyway, you can see above that the dates are Thursday, May 12- Saturday, May 14, 2016.

noexif_IMG_4659_privateIf you are new to the Wilmot Sale, it happens in Wilmot, Wisconsin (near Kenosha), at the Mattel Outlet Warehouse.  Historically there are no dolls there.  You will find AG clothes, accessories, Bitty outfits and accessories, books, and girls’ clothes.  Often there are a good amount of items from the last two Girl of the Year dolls (Isabelle, Grace for example). You do not need an advance ticket to enter the sale, but once you arrive you grab a number which determines when you can enter the sale – it can be hours later.

noexif_IMG_4667_privateThe sale is no place for small children, or your average husband!  It is also a Port o Potty situation so plan ahead with hand wipes and sanitizer!  Check out can be very long because there are folks who sell on eBay and buy thousands of dollars of items at a time.  Credit cards are accepted, but it can be wonky and take a while to process… adding to the wait.

noexif_IMG_4663_privateAre we going this year?  Not sure.  Brianna would say “YES!”  We wouldn’t be able to go until the Saturday date due to school, and I am not sure if it is worth it to go on the last day when we also have access to the Outlet store in Oshkosh.

Speaking of the Outlet store, stay tuned for a blog giveaway!

If you have questions, I am happy to help.

It is similar, except it’s all the AG products except the dolls and the check out takes a lot longer. People come with uHaul trucks. For real. We did not go in 2015, and some people felt the sale was not as good that year. I would never go on the first day again. People camp out to stock their uHauls. Here are some trip reports http://healthfulsaver.com/2014/06/13/report-from-wilmot-american-girl-warehouse-sale-day-2/
Were you the one who was thinking about getting Addy? Trying to remember who wrote about that. She is at the Oshkosh outlet for 80.00. (BEforever). Report on that coming tomorrow!

Thanks for the info! And yes, I am the one planning to get Addy at the sale this summer, but that price would be the same…without the chaos! I live about four hours from Oshkosh, but am always up for a road trip. 🙂 looking forward to reading your report tomorrow!

The Outlet dolls do not have the “X” on the bottom. When our MCM PC Josefina was restrung at the hospital, we did have to pay for it. When Nellie went, we did not have to pay and I wonder if the “X” was what made a difference. Then again, with AG lately, anything is possible.

I don’t think I’ll ever go to any of those kind of things but it’s nice to about them. I’m happy enough with all the regular sales AG is having. I can’t believe so many new releases are on sale already. This must be the new thing AG is doing this year.

I agree Heather. Though I love the fun of the special sales in Wisconsin, the discounts (especially the holiday one this past Christmas) are phenomenal and you don’t have to stand in line and fight crowds.

I went the second day last year to the sale – it was my first time. I got there at 9, when it opened. It took about a 1/2 hour to get in. Sad, its during school – too. I took my kids last year and they could pick out clothes for Christmas. But maybe it would be better if I went by myself. Anyway, we got a lot of fun items. We got dogs that were $10 a piece, with a bowl and accessories. Not sure if I will go this year or not.

I’m glad you got to check it out. Those 10.00 pets were always handy bday party gifts when DD was younger. I don’t think we will get there this year. I believe the Saturday part of the sale is only a half day? That doesn’t bode well for a good supply of merchandise.

Merchandise is generally first quality but not always in complete sets. They will often sell a historical outfit but one piece is removed. For example, it will be the outfit without the shoes. Maine of the boxes have shoes. You need to read the sign above to see what is included. Wilmot is different because it is mainly clothes and accessories and MCM doesn’t have as much in this area. Anything could change though because it seems AG is in the mood for change!!!
