That is without a doubt, one of the craziest stories I’ve ever read, but I’m sure it happens more than we are aware of. I am getting more and more hesitant to buy things off Ebay because of the high rate of fraud and the sheer amount of junk being sold as “new” or “perfect condition”.

I have noticed a HUGE reduction in the amount of AG stuff sold on Ebay in recent months as well, last year if you did a general search on American Girl, it would yield from 80,000 – 95,000 results, now it’s between 40,000 – 45,000. I think people are getting fed up with the prices/quality/dishonesty and aren’t buying, so people aren’t selling as much, they don’t want their money tied up in inventory.

Isn’t it, though? He must have known that they wouldn’t have a way to track that a few people really REALLY liked to buy a lot of dolls. It would be s art to have the FBI contacting you about an eBay purchase!!
