Logan and Tenney, Double Standard?

So it looks like Logan’s boxers come off, but Tenney’s will be changing over to the perma panties.  Uh huh…

And new discussion about whether Nanea has sleep eyes….  she does have a bit of a Wellie-Wisher look to her.

I’m not surprised considering their track record. But what a message that sends to girls. Could that possibly be part of the reason they did this in the first place?
As far as Nanea goes, AG stated that she won’t get permapanties (but of course we can’t believe them). Just by the pictures it looks to me that she has the regular AG eyes, just with the notches and drawn eyelashes on the side, so I think they will open and close. I fell in love with the Wellie Wishers on first sight so I’m more than thrilled with Nanea. I will definitely add her to my collection as long as she really doesn’t have permapanties. She’ll be special because my close friend’s grandma lived in Honolulu the day of the Japanese bombing. She was outside and when she saw the planes and she climbed a mango tree to hide.
She’s being released at a perfect time for me too, as I’m seriously considering visiting Hawaii again with my friend in November, and she’ll be the one to come with me.

That’s right, you had that terrific trip to HI a while back. Brianna is practicing that ukulele as I type (music class). What are Molly’s underwear like? Maybe Nanea’s will be the same? There’s a lot of content for a story set in Hawaii at this time.

So many questions and no answers. And apparently they don’t care. Glad I don’t have stock in their company at the moment!

This morning on the Today Show they had a big announcement about the release of Logan and Tenney and how Logan is the first boy doll they have ever released. It was kind of a half hazard kind of thing though which made me instantly think “damage control?”

Exactly, what message are they sending with Logan able to go commando and Tenney not no matter how much Cottonelle she uses. I am seriously not getting the whole panty thing. At first I was annoyed because I thought all the dolls were getting this treatment. Now I’m more annoyed that some are and some aren’t. If not all and they know we are so upset go back to none! Can Mattel not learn from the New Coke debacle. The dolls with will become collectors items because of limited run and those that want them can get them and those of us who prefer to change our panties will be happy again.

The morning show releases are very disappointing. The excitement has dwindled since the practice started. i believe Oprah was the first to do a big GOTY reveal for Mia. An hour long with at tour or AG.

Wow, I never knew Oprah did a doll reveal and tour! What a terrific idea. It just astounds me that within the same doll story the boy’s underwear are removable and the girl’s won’t be. It feels inefficient to have a company manufacturing 3 or 4 different torsos (BB and WW). I don’t want this debacle to dampen my love of our collection.

Wow. Y’know, if girls now have to pretend away the perma-panties so their dolls can bathe or swim, I don’t see why Logan can’t also have perma-panties – just make ’em white like Maryellen’s!
Nanea… I want to like her, I really do! But I’m not as big of a fan of the Wellie Wishers or Disney Animators lines, and her huge eyes / smaller nose and mouth remind me of those. I’ll probably get her stuff for Kanani though.

When I was non-contagious/recovered enough from the flu, hubby rewarded me with a day out, driving the 50+ miles each way to our AG store for Logan. I’d debated a lot about whether I’d want Tenney or not, she came home w/me mainly because I’ll never buy any perma-pantied AG doll. Plus, she & Logan just seemed to belong together . . . and that banjo/guitar/drum set. . . only got a banjo, but just saying, they sure are tempting! 😉

Aw, that’s a good hubby to go along with your hobbies. I think it’s important for married people to budget for each person to have a pastime. Mine does too, and in return I try to keep the dolls on my dresser to two so it doesn’t look like a toy store in there!
