About

Hello, I’m Brianna! I’m 12 years old and I’m in 7th grade. I currently have 7 AG Dolls. Caroline Abbott, Josefina Montoya [Pleasant Company], Maryellen Larkin, Lanie Holland, Saige Copeland, Isabelle Palmer, Grace Thomas, and Dakota Seville [JLY #60] The dolls that I want the most are  Kanani, McKenna, and Kailey, I’m not the only one who is an AG lover in this household though….

I’m Jen, Brianna’s mom!  I never understood the American Girl obsession… until we got Josefina.  Then, I understood!  After Josefina joined us, it wasn’t long until my mother gave my favorite historical, Addy Walker, to me for my 40-something birthday.  I’ve loved owning Addy and when kids come over I fret if they start messing with Addy’s hair!  I also have my very own Julie and Kit dolls.

I too am a Julie generation, Jen! I got my dolls as friends for my childrens’ dolls so we could play together…I have more than they do now and as they’ve grown, I’ve also inherited a lot of their toys. It worked out well for me. Can’t wait to see more of your blog posts!

Brianna – thanks for introducing mom to the “world!” Saige is also one of my favorites! I have all the old version and anniversary minis. I put them on my Christmas tree this year (see it here: http://mommysdollclub.com/wp/first-photo-story-a-dollie-who-holiday/).

Feel free to check out my blog for some great links to free patterns, crafts, tips, ideas and doll blog listings as well as original stuff.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Last summer I read the Julie books and they brought back so many memories. I love the care the AG writers use to capture subtle details of a time period.

You are awesome. Thank you so much for commenting on my Maryellen book review! I’m really excited to see more blogs about AG. I had no idea there was such a community until I started searching for American Girl groups on Facebook. My poor husband is starting to realize my obsession!

We do have a fun community… United by a slightly unusual hobby for teens and grown-ups… But hey, if a guy builds model cars or plays XBOX, no one bats an eye. Follow your bliss!

I just spoke with a lady at the AG Warehouse in Wilmot. They will not be having a sale there this year (2017).
They will be having what they call a pop up sale in St. Louis at the Mall that the AG store is in but not at the store itself. The sale starts August 3rd and will run 10 days. No info on what will be there.
Mattel has really done it this time. I count on that sale for Christmas gifts not Ebay sales! I don’t feel like going to St. Louis and they did not give us any notice of this. If anyone goes to the sale this year please let us know what it is like!
