Amazon Amping up American Girl Presence

I have a couple of Amazon related thoughts today.  I noticed Amazon has an American Girl “shop” that uses the same images as the American Girl website.  They currently have a lot of Maryellen related items.  It will be interesting to see if this presence increases for the holiday season.  See http://www.amazon.com/americangirl

While I was browsing I came across this new to me item… MegaBlocks set of Grace’s house. Looks like it was released a week or so ago?

I think Amazon would be a great place for AG to sell their retiring merchanise!  Rather see it there than Kohl’s.

I’m glad AG is doing this. I’m still on for Kohl’s though. I want to use my gift cards! The mega blocks aren’t really my thing, but I do want one set – Kanani’s shave ice stand which I don’t see on Amazon. I haven’t seen it any stores either but I know it exists.

That would be good if you have Amazon prime. Did you hear that there are now Wellie Wishers at Barnes and Nobles? I guess the dolls and accessories are available now. I have a gift card for that too, maybe I’ll be getting Willa sooner than I thought….

Wellie Wishers at B & N now?! WTH?! I think they need to expand the market, but now it makes you wonder. I hope this is just a case of testing the waters to see where they sell the best and not a sign of things to come.

I did see on agplaythings a confirmed report of the WW at Barnes. It’s feeling a lot like Barbie. I don’t know whether these stores have exclusions on the coupons as they sometimes do for Lego., I’ll have to study my next coupon from Barnes.
If AG had only gone to something like 5.00 shipping on any order, other than oversized items, that would do wonders for sales and preserve their brand identity

Or free shipping over $50, like Lands End. They really are missing the boat. The partnership with Toys R Us at least sounds somewhat planned, these others sound more like “We HAVE to find a way to move ALL of this merchandise–and FAST!”

AG needs to have free shipping soon! It’s killing me, the sales aren’t helping if shipping is $23! When i went to Kohls and got Lea I got her pjs even though I wasn’t going to because it was the same as shipping costs would’ve been. I’ll have to check out my B&N. (I have a gift card!) thanks for letting me know !

Even $5.00 shipping would be great. The fact that they rarely have shipping perks unless you spend a lot of money makes me think they either make a lot on shipping, or they need to be more efficient to reduce this shipping barrier.

I have bought a lot through Amazon. I have never had any problems with them, and everything I order, gets delivered quickly. I will probably buy a lot more through Amazon. I like your posts. The American Girl dolls are loved by the kids in my family.
